[Description]
High performance sports filter designed based on air intake theory
In order to activate the gasoline engine of NV350, the basic intake and exhaust tuning is effective.
The performance required of a filter for a naturally aspirated engine is the ability to absorb dust and moderate intake resistance.
It is generally recognized that the dust suction capacity is important, but it is not so well known that the inhalation resistance is necessary.
In the intake pipe, even when the throttle is open, the pulsation of air is generated by the opening and closing of the intake valve.
As long as the cam profile (angle of action)* does not change, the time that the valve is closed increases in proportion to the increase in the rotation speed, so that the mixture that was not sucked into the cylinder accumulates just before the valve, and it becomes pressure and causes a backflow phenomenon.
When a filter with low inlet resistance is installed, the pulsation cannot be suppressed because there is no pressure difference between the inside of the intake pipe and the outside air, and the backflowed pressure becomes a wall and reduces the filling efficiency.
A similar situation occurs near the throttle valve.
It is difficult to generate enough negative pressure in the suction with the low-resistance type filter, which is designed on the premise that reduction of intake resistance = improvement of intake efficiency, which is effective for engines with turbochargers, and the intake volume fluctuates greatly in response to changes in throttle.
As a result, it is difficult to maintain a constant flow velocity in the intake air, resulting in a deterioration of response over a wide rpm range.
"Hyper Flow Filter" is a stock replacement type dry air filter developed with the highest priority on improving filling efficiency.
By adopting a fiber filter with a special laminated structure, the intake area has been enlarged to the limit while maintaining the optimum intake resistance based on the tuning theory, and sufficient air intake volume has been secured even at high rpm and high load.
In addition, the intake duct in the driver's pillar is blocked with a "smoothing panel" and multiple slits are newly installed on the side of the filter case cover instead.
By boldly changing the intake layout, OGUshow have attempted to significantly improve the efficiency of the air intake.
