*About the temperature indicated by the stock temperature sensor
The stock temperature sensor is located in the passage where oil heated in the cylinder head returns to the crankcase. It is characterized by its quick response to changes in the temperature of the oil flowing out of the cylinder head. However, please understand that the temperature is higher than that of the drain bolt type temperature sensor and that the fluctuation range is wider depending on the driving conditions. Due to the reading method, there is a possibility that the temperature may not be read correctly by an external full-computer.
[Reference values] Temperature around 20 degrees Celsius, normal engine, flat paved road
Monkey 125:110-115°C when running, 120-125°C when stationary (can exceed 145°C when running continuously up a steep uphill).
CT125/DAX125:125-130°C while driving, 135-140°C while stationary (exceeding 155°C when driving up a severe uphill continuously)
When the engine is idling with no running wind and less oil circulation, or when running at high rpm and low speeds on a steep uphill, the amount of heat generated will be greater than the cooling power, and the value of the stock temperature sensor will begin to rise immediately. Please note that the temperature continues to rise while the vehicle is stationary. CT125 and DAX125 are 15°C higher than Monkey 125 at high temperatures due to the fact that the total oil volume is about 20% less + frictional heat from the centrifugal clutch, etc.
